The Bodhisattva sits in lotus position upon a full?petalled lotus base, crowned with multi?faced Buddha diadem, with serene and rounded facial features. Six arms hold various ritual attributes: two hands bear sun?moon discs inscribed with characters, others form mudras and grasp sacred implements. Ornaments of necklaces and scarves are finely modelled. The base bears moulded mark, with three unglazed firing pads. Covered in rich green glaze with natural craquelure. This sophisticated Buddhist sculpture represents the high ceramic?modelling achievement of northern Liao dynasty.
