Description

ESTIMATED RETAIL PRICE: $6,500 *
*This is the estimated value a piece of similar quality, craftsmanship, and characteristics could command at retail.

Carved jadeite jade exists at the intersection of gemology and sculptural art, where the stone's translucency and color are the material context for the carver's interpretation. The medium yellowish green jadeite here features carved swirl motifs that reveal the stone's interior layers rather than presenting a single uniform surface, and the hand-engraved scrollwork on the 18K yellow gold shoulders continues that carver's sensibility into the metalwork. At 32.6 grams the mounting weight alone signals the scale of the material commitment. Small nick on a corner of the jade is noted.
