Introduced in the immediate post-war period, the MG TC became one of Britain's most influential sports cars, playing a significant role in establishing the marque's reputation abroad, particularly in the burgeoning American market. Retaining the traditional virtues of the pre-war MG Midgets, the TC combined lightweight coachwork, nimble handling and open-top motoring with unmistakably sporting character, qualities that continue to endear the model to enthusiasts today.
Finished in black, this example presents as a running and driving restoration project, having benefitted from considerable recent attention. Works are understood to have included mechanical expenditure on the engine, together with a retrimmed interior featuring attractive new upholstery. The dashboard is further enhanced by its complement of desirable blue-faced Jaeger instruments, a particularly pleasing period feature.
A quantity of invoices and receipts accompany the car, documenting restoration and maintenance works carried out in recent years. Having seen significant investment, the MG would now benefit from a degree of recommissioning and further refinement before returning to regular use, offering an appealing opportunity to acquire and enjoy one of the most recognisable post-war British sports cars while completing the final stages of its restoration. Supplied with accompanying paperwork relating to the works undertaken.
