"The bamboo forest drew me in like a magnet. Walking through the forest paths was a totally Zen experience and I wanted to capture this feeling through my lens. I needed soft light for my delicate exposure - and total calm. My hike started out at first light - I knew finding the perfect section of the mile-long path would be challenging. There is never enough time in the day to get everything perfect - as composition is always critical. As the sun rose high, winds chimed throughout the forest. Although this sounded amazing, it created drama for shooting as I needed the forest to be perfectly still. I reached the falls at the end of the trail, but doubled back to a section with a Primitive stone path. I needed depth for this shot to draw you into the forest and enjoy the serenity as much as I did. This was the spot - all I had to do was wait. Three hours later my patience paid off - the trade winds calmed down - all I needed was half a second of magic."
"Growing up in Australia, I was surrounded by an incredible landscape that captivated. When I was eight, my parents bought me a camera - and after a fateful snapshot of a spider web in the family garden - I was hooked. My travels have taken me to the most amazing locations around the world capturing landscapes that I could only once dream of shooting. I am so grateful for the beauty of this planet and I will never stop sharing it. I have dedicated my life to capturing the beauty of Mother Nature.".
