A very beautiful French Impressionist oil painting on canvas of an Belle Epoque era winter street scene. The artist has depicted a solitary horse and carriage at a Parisian intersection with the early morning sun just beginning to tinge the sky a lovely shade of pink. The street and trees are laden with snow. Signed lower right, G Legg and housed in its original giltwood frame. It is in the manner of the well known French artist, Edouard Leon Cortes.

Art has long been regarded as a strong and safe investment. Ellen Kelleher, a personal finance reporter for The Financial Times wrote an article recommending art particularly in the $500 - $50,000 range as a sound long term investment with an impressive current average annual yield of 9.7%. See 'Hang Your Investments on the Wall' in the Financial Times published in October, 2010.
