Vintage ink wash / Sumi-e / Shui mo painting after the original by Tensho Shubun. The painting depicts a secluded misty mountain landscape with gnarled pine trees, pagodas and fishing boats. This is a common theme in Chinese scholar-paintings that symbolizes an ideal place for peaceful retreats. This style emphasizes minimalist brush strokes and black ink on paper or silk to evoke lyrical tranquility and a connection with nature. Framed in Bangkok.
Tensho Shubun (TianZhang ZhouWen; died c. 1444-50) was a Japanese Zen Buddhist monk and painter of the Muromachi period. The original is located in the Nara National Museum and has been designated as a National Treasure of Japan.
