Description

A winter scene, this work shows a classic American farmstead draped in snow. A red-roofed barn and silo set atop a hill; a wagon in the foreground; bare trees with delicate branches; and a pale winter sky that suggests either dawn or dusk. The composition balances strong architectural forms with atmospheric shading, giving the piece both structure and warmth.

The attention to detail in the barn, fence, and wagon-plus the careful line work of trees-speaks to the mid-20th-century regional tradition, where rural life and seasonal change were celebrated as symbols of stability and heritage. Yet the scene remains decorative and approachable, an ideal fit for farmhouse, country, or traditional interiors.

Signed lower right, framed in a rich, carved rustic wood frame that adds visual weight and makes the painting ready to hang.
