Peter Robert Keil (German, born 1942)
Untitled (abstract portrait)

Acrylic painting on paper
Signed to the lower margin

No Certificate of Authenticity

Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miro. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.
