Ode to Motherwell
Susan Cohen
Acrylic on paper, framed in black metal

Ode to Motherwell is an abstract acrylic painting inspired by the bold visual language of Robert Motherwell. The work pays homage to his exploration of form, gesture, and emotional depth, while asserting Susan Cohen's own contemporary voice. Strong contrasts and expressive shapes create a dynamic composition that invites contemplation and interpretation. Executed on paper and presented in a sleek black metal frame, the piece balances spontaneity with structure, honoring the spirit of modern abstraction and the enduring influence of Motherwell's work.
