A stunning example of California's golden age of decorative arts, this hand-crafted tile-top side table dates to the 1920s-1930s and embodies the Spanish Colonial Revival style that swept Southern California during the Arts & Crafts movement.

The jewel of this piece is its 6-tile surface, rendered in the traditional cuerda seca technique - a method in which raised lines separate vivid pools of glaze, preventing colors from bleeding. The palette is quintessentially Californian: deep cobalt blue, burnt orange, sunshine yellow, teal, and black, arranged in a bold geometric and floral pattern. The tiles' age-appropriate crazing and glaze depth are consistent with production from the great Southern California tile potteries of the era, such as Catalina Clay Products, Malibu Potteries, or Taylor Tileworks.

The walnut-stained hardwood base is equally refined, featuring four beautifully turned bobbin legs - a hallmark of Spanish Revival furniture - connected by a graceful lower shelf with scalloped edges. The shaped apron echoes the organic curves of the shelf below, giving the piece a cohesive, hand-crafted quality rarely seen in mass-produced furniture.
