A beautifully preserved antique mother-and-child rocking chair set, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1870-1890. Likely American-made during the Victorian era, these chairs feature hand-turned spindle construction and warm, richly toned hardwood, conveying the craftsmanship of the period. Such "mother and child" sets were cherished in family parlors and nurseries, symbolizing domestic comfort and connection. The coordinating upholstery presents a classic woven pattern well suited to traditional, farmhouse, or English cottage interiors.
