This one-of-a-kind American Folk Art Dalmatian is carved from salvaged wood, assembled with cheerful ingenuity, and painted in classic black spots that refuse to behave. His legs are sturdy and square, his body a plank-built parade float of charm. And then there's that face - mouth open, tongue lolling in triumphant red - the expression of a dog who has never once been told "no." He is joy, carved.

There's a wink here to the long tradition of American folk art: make do, make merry, make it by hand. You can see the tool marks, the brushstrokes, the human touch. Nothing slick. Nothing precious. Everything alive.

Tuck him into a corner and he'll turn it into a stage. Stack your favorite folk pottery or a tower of well-loved books on his back and let him serve as the most loyal pedestal you'll ever own. Sculpture, furniture, punchline - all in one very good boy.
