Invite color and refinement into your interior with this elegant pair of antique floral still life paintings, crafted in France circa 1870. Each oil on canvas composition features a lush and abundant arrangement of flowers and fruit, including roses, peonies, lilies, and trailing garden blooms, rendered with soft, atmospheric backgrounds. The painterly technique and warm palette of reds, pinks, greens, and ivory create depth and movement, evoking the romantic decorative tradition of 19th century French interiors.
Both paintings are set in their original carved giltwood frames, richly decorated with deep relief foliage, laurel, and textured borders. The frames retain a warm, luminous gold finish with a beautifully aged patina, and significantly enhance the presence and scale of the works.
The antique paintings are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with well-preserved pigments and minor restorations visible from the reverse. Versatile and decorative, this striking pair would anchor a dining room, living room, or entry with classic French elegance.
