This lot features a rare, dual-autographed collector's insert panel from a 1984 issue of Baseball Cards magazine. COA included. The piece showcases two "Update" style custom cards meticulously rendered in the classic 1953 Topps baseball design. These beautiful oil painting portraits were custom commissioned by the publication and executed by legendary artist Gerry Dvorak, one of the original painters responsible for the landmark 1953 Topps set. The panel highlights two iconic generations of baseball greats: Atlanta Braves superstar Dale Murphy and Boston Red Sox legend Ted Williams. Making this specific item exceptional for serious sports memorabilia collectors, both players have signed their respective card portraits in bold blue sharpie ink. The panel arrives beautifully preserved on its original uncut magazine stock, absolute with its historical descriptive text detailing the origin of this classic sports art project.
