A striking, sophisticated pair of vintage contemporary abstract prints by renowned German artist Alfred Gockel, 35" H x 18" W each. Originally titled "The Other Side" and officially cataloged as the "Abstract Figure" series, this matched pair blends the sharp geometric fragmentation of Cubism with the fluid, expressive linework of Abstract Expressionism. This particular set was curated and produced exclusively for Thomasville Furniture Industries, framed by the trade-only Phoenix Galleries in Atlanta, Georgia. High-end furniture makers frequently commissioned these elongated vertical panels to showcase in high-design showrooms, making them highly sought-after pieces for completing a Mid-Century Modern, Postmodern, or contemporary interior. Featuring a beautifully muted color palette of slate gray, cream, charcoal, and deep navy accents, these panels are exceptionally versatile.
They are housed in their original, premium heavy black frames with a sophisticated embossed dot-matrix textured border that adds wonderful depth and historical context to the presentation. Perfect for flanking a fireplace, grounding a large media console, or styling a long hallway.
