Original graphite pencil drawing by American artist and illustrator Theodore E. Schrock (1879-1952), depicting the expressive head of a Cocker Spaniel with long, flowing ears and an alert, cheerful expression. Executed with outstanding tonal control, the drawing emphasizes the breed's silky coat, soft facial features, and reflective eyes through refined graphite shading accented with white highlights on toned paper.

Signed and dated 1949 in the lower left, this work reflects Schrock's accomplished commercial illustration style and his exceptional ability to render canine anatomy and character. The simplified geometric background adds a subtle modern graphic element while keeping the focus on the finely modeled portrait. Likely created as a breed study or commercial illustration during the height of Schrock's career.
