Original graphite pencil drawing by American artist and illustrator Theodore E. Schrock (1879-1952), depicting a standing Pointer hunting dog shown in profile with traditional collar and alert stance. Executed with exceptional attention to anatomy, musculature, and tonal modeling, the drawing captures the breed's classic show pose and athletic elegance.

Signed and dated 1949 below the figure, this work is executed on toned paper. Schrock was recognized for his finely rendered illustrations and realistic draftsmanship, producing artwork for books, magazines, advertising, and commercial commissions throughout the early to mid-20th century. While the original intended publication or commission for this drawing is unknown, its refined execution is characteristic of professional commercial illustration from the period.
