Linda Scott, American artist, Paint On Canvas, "Dark Horse With Nude Female Rider". Scott is an American artist known for her evocative and often bold paintings and often explores themes of the human body, sexuality, and the relationship between figures and their environments. This piece could be seen as symbolic of strength and vulnerability--two themes that Scott has explored throughout her career. The horse, traditionally a symbol of power and freedom, paired with the nakedness of the rider might suggest an unrestrained, primal force or a meditation on the body's relationship to power. The dark tones in the horse may create a sense of mystery or tension, making the riders nudity stand out as both exposed and empowered. Vibrant colors of turquoise, black, flesh-colored and cobalt blue throughout. Artist's signature lower right front and verso. Palm Beach Gallery label affixed to the back of the canvas.
