Charming hand-sculpted studio pottery seagull featuring an exaggerated rounded body, expressive face, and stylized carved wing decoration. The figure stands on thin wooden dowel legs with oversized sculpted feet, giving the piece a playful folk-art sensibility. Finished in contrasting white and earthy brown glazes with incised detailing throughout.
The underside bears an incised signature reading Susan Davis.
This example reflects Davis recognizable whimsical ceramic animal forms, which blend coastal imagery with a humorous, handcrafted aesthetic
