This striking oil on canvas, painted and signed by Russian artist A.G. Saveliev (Savel'ev A.G.) in 2001, depicts Peter I (Peter the Great, 1672-1725), the first Emperor of Russia. The composition presents the tsar in full ceremonial attire, holding a golden crown in one hand and a sword in the other, with sailing ships visible in the seascape background-an allusion to Peter's naval reforms and Russia's rise as a maritime power.

The portrait is painted in a formal, iconic style, with strong contours, rich coloration, and attention to symbolic detail. The inscription at the top reads: "Imperator Petr I (1672-1725)" ["Emperor Peter I"].

The canvas itself measures 24"x12", set within a decorative gilt-and-blue frame, bringing the total dimensions to 29.5"x17.5".
