Imperial Russian Jager helmet, model 1844, no. 95. Nicholas I Period, Circa 1850-1860. Black lacquered boiled leather helmet retaining its original brass Imperial double-headed eagle plate with St. George slaying the dragon escutcheon, flaming grenade finial, brass chin-scales, and front numeral "95". A rare and highly desirable example of the iconic Russian Model 1844 Jager helmet, worn by light infantry formations during the reign of Emperor Nicholas I.
