The elaborate gilt-brass hilt features a sculptural lion-head pommel, folding knuckle guard, silver-gray shagreen grip with twisted wire binding, and a diamond-shaped langet applied with a silvered flaming grenade, emblem of the Grenadiers. The reverse guard bears the crowned royal "W" cypher of King Willem III (reigned 1849-1890). Complete with its original curved steel scabbard with suspension ring and drag. Overall: 38 in. Blade 31.5in. Condition: Very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear, scattered oxidation and patination. Blade inscriptions and etched panels remain clearly visible; hilt tight, shagreen and wire substantially intact; scabbard complete with expected surface wear and minor dent.
