Description
Russian Civil War officer's medal bar - Order of St. George and Great Siberian Ice March, probably Grodekovo, ca. 1920-21. Officer's medal bar comprising an Order of St. George, 4th Class, in gilt bronze/tombac and enamel, 36.35 mm, together with the rare 1st Class Badge of the Military Order "For the Great Siberian Campaign" (Great Siberian Ice March), with silver thorn wreath and applied gilt-tombac sword, 47.95 mm long. The Siberian Campaign badge is mounted on the correct St. George ribbon prescribed for the 1st Class. Its 47.95 mm sword closely corresponds to the documented 48 mm Grodekovo type manufactured in 1921, supporting an attribution to probably Grodekovo manufacture. Both decorations remain together on an old period-mounted medal bar with original-style pin assembly. A rare and historically significant combination of White Russian decorations from the final campaigns of the Russian Civil War in Siberia and the Far East.
