Order of Louise with Crown, Prussia, c. 1814-1840s. Manufactured by J. Godet & Sohn, Berlin, official jeweler to the Prussian Royal Court. Female order for patriotic merit, instituted by King Friedrich Wilhelm III in honor of Queen Louise. Gilt metal and black-enameled Cross Pattee (32.9 x 52.7mm including crown) with blue central medallion bearing the gilt cipher "L" surrounded by stars; reverse dated 1813-1814 commemorating the Wars of Liberation. Solid Berlin-style crown, original white-and-black ladies' bow ribbon.
