A charming mid-19th-century Dutch winter skating scene, engraved by A.H. Payne after Cottrau. The steel engraving depicts a woman gliding across the ice with a baby perched on her shoulders, surrounded by other skaters in the background - a classic example of European winter genre imagery from the period. The print is presented in a beautifully crafted black wood frame with raised detailing and an ivory-colored mat that highlights the crisp lines of the engraving. The piece is professionally framed with non-glare glass and a sealed back, ready to hang. Dimensions: 11" W * 13" H. Condition: Print shows age-appropriate toning; frame and mat are in excellent condition. A lovely accent for a gallery wall, study, library, or seasonal display, and a timeless example of 19th-century European engraving.
