Pair of 19th-century Japanese woodblock prints by renowned ukiyo-e master Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1865). Each print depicts a Kabuki actor, rendered with Kunisada's distinctive sense of character and movement.

Kunisada, one of the most celebrated artists of the Utagawa school, was highly regarded for his yakusha-e (actor portraits) that captured the energy and drama of Edo-period theater. His prints were immensely popular during his lifetime, often surpassing those of his contemporaries such as Hokusai and Hiroshige.

Both artworks are backed with silver leaf, signed by the artist, and presented in their original antique wood frames with black matting and glass. These prints exemplify the refined craftsmanship and theatrical elegance of 19th-century Japanese ukiyo-e art.
