Well known, Illinois artist, Mary K. Seyfarth (American b. 1947) created this collage in 1988. Seyfarth used a pointillist technique of gluing hundreds of tiny colorful papers to a base sheet of paper to create this geometric painting. Titled, "Light" it measures 15" high X 21" wide and it's signed and dated verso.

Seyfarth is primarily a ceramic artist and obviously she also paints.Seyfarth was educated at the University of Illinois where she obtained her MBA. She is currently active in her Chicago studio creating rather significant art forms including large outdoor sculptures, bowls and paintings which this painting comes from her personal collection.
