Marc Raphael's "Cocktails and Sinatra" captures the carefree glamour of mid-century sophistication through the language of contemporary abstract expressionism. This original drip painting is an ideal piece for collectors of modern abstract art, fans of action painting, or anyone drawn to expressive canvases that exude energy, movement, and style.

Los Angeles artist Marc Raphael captivates with his abstract expressionist paintings influenced by New York's abstract expressionist movement. After encountering Jackson Pollock's work for the first time in the 90s, Raphael was enraptured by the scale, energy, color, and abstraction, awakening his creative spirit. Raphael's painting technique combines the movement of his body, the viscous flow of paint, the force of gravity, and the absorption of paint into the canvas in a mixture of controllable and uncontrollable factors.

This original artwork by Raphael measures 38 inches tall by 30 inches wide and was created with acrylic paint on canvas. The sides are painted as a continuation of the front, and the artwork comes ready to hang with no framing necessary. The artist's signature and title adorn the back. This artwork can be installed both vertically and horizontally. Convenient local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and international shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity from the art gallery is included.

In "Cocktails and Sinatra", loops and splashes of crimson, black, ivory, and soft blue twist and tumble across a warm, taupe-colored background. The composition, both chaotic and harmonious, evokes the syncopated rhythms of a jazz ensemble or the swing of Sinatra's voice in a smoky lounge. Marc Raphael's fluid gestures feel intuitive and spontaneous, yet refined-each mark an echo of sound, conversation, or motion.

Raphael, a former K-12 teacher turned full-time painter, explores the depths of acrylic and latex paints, bringing unconscious thoughts to life through imaginative freedom. His process involves applying intuitive marks on raw canvas, allowing the painting to evolve naturally. With a balance of control and spontaneity, Raphael's creations evoke the spirit of jazz improvisation.

Marc Raphael's exceptional abstract expressionist paintings are held in private collections worldwide.
