Recalling the traditional Dutch still life paintings, this oil painting brings compelling color to the home space. Oil on board, it features a large fresh orange, peeled and carefully arranged on a flat surface. The artist, attempts to capture the realism of the peeled orange slice presented, particularly in the use of texture and light to highlight the contrasts.
Painted alla prima from life.

A wide frame of gilt wood anchors the bright orange-hued piece, balancing nuanced texture and contrasting color with a simple, modern aesthetic.
