This pensive fellow is Mr Stewart Pixley JP DL (1824-1899), bullion broker, army officer and marksman immortalized in the pages of the January 25, 1890 issue of Vanity Fair. His chromolithograph portrait was rendered by the most famous Vanity Fair artist, Sir Matthew Leslie Ward, aka "Spy". Matted in a 16" x 20" pH neutral mat for ease of framing in a readymade frame, this print is in excellent condition with alight crease in the upper corner, as pictured.
