A whimsical and character rich original drawing by Palm Beach artist Vincenzo Zito, dating to the 1950s. this framed pencil illustration captures a humorous canine showdown: a fierce little chihuahua guards a prized bone while surrounded by a motley crew of expressive dogs - a scruffy terrier, a proud bulldog, and an eager dachshund. The artist even offers two possible titles for the scene, one a nervous "H-Hello, Fellers" and the other, presumably from the ringleader, the bold declaration: "This is a stick-up."
Zito, a beloved figure in Palm Beach's 1950s art scene, was known for his witty, narrative driven illustrations that brought charm and levity. His work reflected both technical skill and a sharp sense of humor, making him a favorite among the area's social circles.
This signed original is framed under conservation glass with a cream mat and black wood molding - ready to hang and delight dog lovers, collectors, or fans of vintage illustration.
