A beautifully sculpted mid-century wooden shorebird signed W. Haynes and retaining its original Farmington, Missouri label beneath the base. The label is hand-marked "/10," indicating the maker's cataloging or series number for this particular model - a detail that adds documentation and provenance to the piece.

This shorebird reflects the clean, modern sensibility of mid-century studio carving, with an elongated neck, tapered beak, slender turned legs, and a fluid silhouette that feels both minimal and expressive. The warm wood grain and refined profile give it a quiet sophistication more aligned with Scandinavian modern sculpture than traditional carvings. A striking example of American mid-century studio authenticity.
