A striking large-scale hand-carved wooden sculpture in the form of a cello, blending rustic craftsmanship with sculptural artistry. Beautifully constructed from solid wood with a richly weathered patina, this one-of-a-kind piece captures the elegant silhouette of a classical cello while incorporating imaginative folk art details.

The body and neck are carved from solid wood, while wire strings and a metal endpin complete the instrument-like appearance. Perhaps its most charming feature is the use of natural pinecones as the tuning pegs, adding a whimsical, organic touch that makes the sculpture truly distinctive. The cello stands independently on a metal endpin, just like a traditional instrument.

Whether displayed in a mountain home, music room, lodge, gallery, or contemporary interior, this exceptional sculpture makes a dramatic statement and serves as a remarkable conversation piece.

This sculpture was acquired from the estate of a Colorado State University art professor, adding to its provenance and artistic appeal.
