Contemporary pink and blue toned abstract painting by Chicago-based artist Cecilia Beaven. The work features a contorted rabbit inspired figure. Cecilia Beaven draws upon her early life in Mexico City as well as her own personal introspection to create a narrative in which intriguing and absurd mythical creatures explore the fictional landscape of the artist's inner world. Signed by the artist in the front lower right corner as well as signed and dated on reverse.

Artist Biography:
Cecilia Beaven is a visual artist from Mexico City, currently based in Chicago. Besides keeping a studio practice, Cecilia is a part-time instructor at SAIC; Beaven teaches the college-level course Comics: Graphic Narrative, that she created for the Painting and Drawing Department. She has also painted murals in several cities such as Mexico City, Oaxaca, Pachuca, Tepoztlan, Houston, Chicago, Paris, Hiketa and Tijuana, where she was commissioned to paint a segment of the border wall between Mexico and the US.
