Original Oil Painting by Viktor Ilyushkin (b. 1946)
Sailing Ship in Stormy Sea - Dramatic Seascape Scene

Up for sale is a captivating large oil painting on canvas by Russian artist Viktor Nikolayevich Ilyushkin (born 1946). This dramatic maritime scene portrays a lone sailing ship navigating through turbulent waves under a stormy sky, with touches of pink sunset illuminating the horizon. The deep blues of the ocean contrast with the lighter clouds, creating a moody and atmospheric seascape full of movement and intensity.

The ship's fully unfurled sails catch the wind as it battles the elements, evoking a strong sense of adventure and the timeless struggle of man versus nature. The painting is presented in a richly ornate gold frame, which enhances its classical maritime appeal.

Signed by the artist in the lower right corner, this piece shows a stylistic influence reminiscent of Ivan Aivazovsky, with its luminous depiction of transparent waves and masterful handling of light and stormy skies.
