Bring character and charm to a tabletop or console with this delightful antique French terracotta dog sculpture, crafted circa 1950. Depicting a reclining pug, the piece captures the breed's signature expression with remarkable realism and personality.

The sculpture is finely modeled with detailed texturing throughout the coat, accentuating the natural folds and musculature of the dog. The expressive face is enhanced by inset glass eyes, giving the figure a lifelike presence, while the black-painted ears, paws, and collar create a pleasing contrast against the warm brown body. The dog is further adorned with a decorative collar featuring raised medallion elements, adding a touch of whimsy and refinement.

This antique decorative figure is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and boasts a rich, time-softened patinated finish. A charming accent for a coffee table, bookshelf, or desk, it is especially appealing for dog lovers or collectors of animal sculptures.
