Vintage oil on canvas portrait painting of a woman in period wood and gesso gold frame. the woman is wearing a purple dress with a fur stole, medals and a tiara; indicating that she may be European royalty.

She is identified as Mrs. Charles D. Westcott as noted on the back of the canvas. The back also says the painting was done Jan 1927 in Washington D.C. and is signed Hans Schlereth (German b. 1897). Interestingly enough Hans Schlereth also painted a portrait of Theodore Roosevelt in that same year.

This is a large canvas that displays beautifully. It will have some general wear commensurate with its age. See photo with the ruler for scale in your space.
