Vintage 1982 Original Etching of Legendary Race Horse "Affirmed" in a Race

Description

Affirmed (1975-2001) was a legendary American Thoroughbred who became the 11th Triple Crown winner in 1978, renowned for his intense rivalry with Alydar. Ridden by Steve Cauthen, he won 22 of 29 career races, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes, and was named Horse of the Year in 1978 and 1979.

This etching shows the horse 'Affirmed' being ridden in a race against his rival 'Alydar'. In wood frame, matted and behind glass. Signed to the lower right, numbered 133/150 to the lower left. Image measures 7.5" x 8.5" and overall measures 12" x 15".
