Wood blanket or storage chest with beautiful exterior pattern purchased from Neiman Marcus in the 2000s. Red interior with floating shelf and side storage box. Heavy. Features original vintage brass counter-balance hinges. The heavy solid wood lid stays propped open reliably for hands-free access, resting with a slight forward-leaning angle typical of its age and authentic construction. Manufacturer unknown, but probably a limited run commissioned by Neiman Marcus.
