An outstanding late 19th century Chinese Peking rug with a central medallion with a cream and champagne colored phoenix resting on scholar's rocks amidst flowering chrysanthemums and under a leafy branch, all on a dark indigo background. The border is wide with a wide cream colored stripe with various censors and potted vases repeated around the perimeter.
