A striking mid-century cast iron horse sculpture inspired by the stylized equine forms found in ancient Etruscan and Mediterranean art. The piece, from a UK estate, features an arched neck, ribbed mane, elongated legs, and deliberately simplified anatomy, creating a bold, graphic silhouette with strong sculptural presence. It weighs almost 5 lbs.

Cast in solid iron with a textured black patina, the surface exhibits natural variation consistent with age and mid-century decorative ironwork. The horse is mounted on a simple black-painted wooden base, likely a later or utilitarian mount-common on European imports of the period-which allows the sculptural form to remain the focal point.

Evoking the timeless primitivism of classical antiquity interpreted through a mid-20th-century modern lens, this sculpture works beautifully in modern, Brutalist, and eclectic interiors.
