At the Water's Edge (1914) by Edward Berge - Antique Bronze Sculpture (Roman Bronze Works)
An elegant early 20th-century bronze sculpture, At the Water's Edge by Edward Berge, dated 1914. This charming piece captures a quiet, intimate moment-a young child poised at the edge of water, rendered with soft naturalism and emotional subtlety.
Cast in bronze with a rich, aged patina, this work is often associated with the renowned Roman Bronze Works, known for producing high-quality casts of important American sculptors of the period. The composition reflects Berge's signature style: gentle realism, fine anatomical detail, and a contemplative mood.
Originally conceived as both a standalone sculpture and, in some versions, a decorative fountain element, this piece makes a striking addition to any collection of American art, garden sculpture, or classical interiors.
This rare piece is a water fountain
