Description
A striking pair of vintage pewter candlesticks modeled as cranes, symbolizing longevity, perched amidst dense, stylized bushes. Each crane supports a floral-form candle holder in its beak and is elevated by an architectural hexagonal base with pierced gallery-work. The craftsmanship is highlighted by independent, etched wings wired to the bodies for added dimension. A rich contrast of materials is achieved through the use of brass and copper inlays on the heads, eyes, and hardware. The undersides of both bases bear traditional debossed Chinese hallmarks.
