This lot features a high-quality sports portrait art print of New York Yankees icon Mickey Mantle, created by the celebrated post-war baseball card illustrator and professional animator Gerry Dvorak. Dvorak, universally famed for rendering hundreds of original portrait backgrounds for the groundbreaking 1953 Topps Baseball Card Set, depicts a young, determined "Mick" looking off-field in his pinstripes while confidently holding his bat over his left shoulder. The collector's item is hand-signed in vintage pencil by the artist himself as "Gerry Dvorak" on the wide cream-colored bottom border matrix. Displaying exceptional color preservation and a stark dark background that makes the Yankees pinstripes stand out, this authentic multi-decade piece of sports memorabilia stands as a marvelous tribute to one of baseball's golden eras.
