Description
This 1930's Arts & Crafts Flowers Hand Painted By and Signed "Alpha Walker-Witt" Sugar + Creamer Set Meito China Blank is unique and exquisite.
The set is delicate and small in scale - the creamer is 1 7/8" tall and 1 3/4" in diameter. The sugar bowl is 2 3/4" tall with lid and 4" wide including handles.
The painted details make this set spectacular and one-of-a-kind. Alpha Walker-Witt lived from 1893-1963 in Davenport, Iowa. She was an accomplished pottery painter and you can find a few examples of her Arts & Crafts style decoration online.
This set features yellow, red and orange flowers with green leaves and stems on a white background- possibly camellia trees? The sugar bowl and creamer are accented with gold gilding. The inside is iridescent.
Each piece is signed by the artist on the bottom. There is no date but I estimate this set was painted in the 1930's.
They are in Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, crazing or repairs.
I purchased this set in Davenport, Iowa in the early 1990's.
Please look at the photos carefully as they are the most important part of the description.
Please see my other pottery and glass listings - I'm happy to combine shipping.
It will be well wrapped and sent from a smoke-free home.
