a set of 12 antique salad or dessert plates, made by George Jones in England and retailed through Tiffany and Company in New York, likely dating to between 1890 and 1930. Each plate has a white background, decorated with two continuous interwoven garlands of roses and leaves in green, bordered by a gold rim at the very edge and a further inner gold rim. The underside is marked with the intertwined initials J G above a gorget shaped punch reading Jones and Sons, for George Jones, along with the mark for Tiffany and Company, New York, Made in England. Condition is superb and mint throughout, with no chips, no cracks, and no problems of any kind. Diameter is 8 inches
