Description
This large majolica jardiniere by Weller showcases classic Art Nouveau style with a geometric and floral design in relief in an earthy, natural color palette of green, yellow, and brown glazes. Some crazing is expected for a Weller piece of this age and it lends to the piece a lovely patina. There are no chips or cracks but there are some factory pinholes and mold marks. While this piece is unmarked, it is pictured on page 140 of "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Weller Pottery" by Sharon and Bob Huxford. This piece dates to some time within the 1890s - 1920s. A truly outstanding piece of late victorian American art pottery - this large and unusual piece will shine in your home.
