Late Neoclassical athletic sculpture of a discus thrower. This is most likely a Rudolf Marcuse’s Diskuswerfer (“Discus Thrower”), probably cast in Berlin by the Gladenbeck foundry, circa 1910. The identification is supported by an extremely close documented example: the same pose, polished black patina, circular bronze terrace, and mottled marble base. Dimensions: 17" H Sculpture, 20" Overall.

Unmarked, very good condition
