Sadao Watanabe (Japanese, 1913-1996). Kappazuri (stencil) print on hand-made momi-gami (crumpled) paper titled "The Last Supper," 1973. Depicting a highly stylized Biblical Last Supper scene, Jesus and Mary are positioned at the table's end, with disciples seated along the sides against a vivid red ground. Signed and date along the lower right; numbered 18/70 along the lower left.
Height: 24 in x width: 20 in.

Condition

The colors are bold and bright. Along the upper left quadrant, there is a small tear along the extreme edge. Light undulation to the sheet consistent with being rolled. Light wear along the extreme edge. The work is not matted or framed.
