Description

Chinese export European subject porcelain plate, Qianlong ca. 1740. Decorated in famille rose in the center with a lady holding a white cop and a man seated at a table with a whisk. Both figures watch a rooster confronting a Pekinese dog. Bordered by a puce cell-pattern along the rim reserved with four cartouches containing lotus.

Condition

There is one small chip to the rim. No cracks. The beak of the rooster and the dog have been repainted; some losses to the polychrome of the dog.
